The city tour can start from the heart of the historical center, that is the important Piazza Tasso, dedicated to the great poet, author of Gerusalemme Liberata, who was born in Sorrento in 1544. The square opens to Corso Italia: the long pedestrian street characterized by the presence of numerous boutiques, but also bars and ice cream parlors. At the side of the square there is the Correale Museum, which houses ancient art paintings and objects belonging to a period ranging from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. Sorrento has a artisan production of great quality: famous are its lace and its wood inlays, available in typical workshops and small shops scattered around the old town. Particularly interesting is the Museum of Wood Inlay in Pomarici Santomasi Palace, built in the '700 and restored in 1999; inside you can find furniture and wooden objects, paintings, prints and period photographs that allow us to reconstruct the ancient image of the city. Among the places to visit you can not miss the church of San Francesco d'Assisi with its small XIV century cloister, and the Basilica of St. Anthony, known for its eighteenth century crib.

At the end of the excursion you’ll visit an artisanal limoncello liqueur factory where you'll have the chance to taste the renowned Limoncello made exclusively with the lemons of the Area.
